There is not much I love more than photographing a couple's engagement session. Getting to spend time with my couples before their wedding day is so important to me. I like to take this opportunity to create a fun, relaxed & romantic photographic atmosphere where I can really allow my couples to be who they are. Maggie & Alan were so much fun and you can truly see how excited and in love they are.
Our plan was to get wildflowers and sunset photos up at Table Mountain then head Downtown Chico for some urban nightlife photos. During the spring, the wildflowers are gorgeous at Table Mountain. That, plus our lucky fortune of having a moody sky, we were certain to get some amazing sunset photos. Their daughter, Analyn, also joined us for the beginning portion of the session so we could get a few family shots as well. She was so much fun and a little model in front of the camera. Plus, it was nice to have an extra pair of hands to help with the bag of props. We weren't going to run out of things to do that was for sure.
I was so excited with all the props that Maggie & Alan brought for their engagement session...it really allowed for me to try some fun and unique ideas. For the sunset photos, they popped open a favorite bottle of wine for some romantic pics. Best of all, they brought an extra wine glass for me! From every direction the sky was gorgeous and romance was in the air. Just as the sun hid behind the hill we briskly walked back to the cars and headed to our second location, Downtown Chico City Plaza. This would give the couple a variety of urban backdrops and they really wanted to get some images with an urban feel to them.
I had so much fun with Maggie & Alan during their engagement session and I am excited to photograph and be a part of their wedding and their happily ever after. Here are some of my favorite photos from the evening.
