Megan & Cory's Oroville, CA. Family Portrait Session

When I caught wind that Megan and Cory were expecting a child, I got super excited. Not just because I absolutely adore this family, but because I had a feeling I would get a chance to photograph the new little addition. It is always such a pleasure and one of my biggest joys when a Bride and Groom contact me after their wedding to do family photos. Kylee, their 7 year old daughter, gets her portrait taken every year around her birthday and Megan thought it would be a good idea to make it a family photo session, too. I was so excited to see them again and to meet little Grant.

We decided to have the photo session at an historic location in Oroville, CA: The Lott Home. Sitting within Sank Park, a beautifully landscaped park that takes up an entire city block, The Lott Home is a fantastic place for a family photo session with it's Victorian style architecture and fastidiously maintained gardens. Once the session was wrapping up Megan looked at me and asked, "You really get to see so many people during the happiest times of their lives, don't you?" I responded, "Yes I do and I love it!" Congratulations to Megan and Cory on your beautiful little family. I look forward to more family photo sessions.

Raquel & Sonny's Chico CA. Engagement Session

I am so excited to introduce this couple on the blog. Raquel and Sonny are so cute and so much fun: I really had the best time with them. Together, we came up with some great ideas and locations for this engagement session.

We started the session at the Chico Train Station and spent a lot of time around the cute building, the Empire Coffee train car (unfortunately they were closed), and along the train tracks. We were lucky enough to get a train to pass thru while we were photographing to create a blurred effect.

Once we were done with our first location, we headed to the park for some traditional portraits and a picnic with fruits, veggies, a cute handmade sign and, of course, Sierra Nevada Summerfest. To end the session we headed over to a favorite field of mine and as the sun got low enough I was able to have fun with lens flares and sillhouette shots. I really love how all the images turned out from this session and hope you all do too. Thanks again to the awesome couple. I am beyond excited for your wedding day.
