Fall is here and it is time for Family Photo Sessions. The Jenni Family contacted me for photos and had their location picked out: one of the family's favorite hiking trail and the place where Joe proposed to his wife, Jennifer. Every year, they make the short hike from Lake Tahoe to Eagle Lake. When we arrived at our location, we were blasted with a gust of wind and we all looked at each other wondering if we would be able to do this. Despite the intense wind, we got as many photos as we could on the hike but, unfortunately, we were overpowered and had to take a majority of the photos in the parking lot after the hike. Since we didn't get to photograph as long as we would have liked, we decided we would meet up in Reno at Mayberry Park. We could not get away from the wind, but that didn't stop us from getting some amazing shots. I love how these all turned out! Big thank you to the family for sticking out the weather and I hope you love these as much as I do:)
Samantha and JD were so excited when they stumbled upon this gem of a nursery, The Plant Barn, located in Chico, CA. They knew it was one of the locations they wanted their engagement photos to be taken. After the approval from the very friendly staff, we were set. This would be a first for me so I made sure to get there a little early so I could check it out. I was greeted right away by the owner who took me around the nursery and showed me some of her favorite spots. The staff made us feel right at home and the location provided some amazing photo opportunities. After the first few minutes with the couple, I knew the session was going to be super fun. Not only are Samantha & JD so in love, they are freaking cute! I adore the way they look at each other...the smiles they get on their faces.
For the second half of our session, the couple knew they wanted to go to Paradise Lake in Magalia, CA. Although this wasn't my first time visiting the cute lake snuggled in the mountains east of Chico, it would be me first time photographing a couple there. One thing that these two truly love to do is read - well, mostly Sam - so they brought some books to use for props. At one point while posing the couple, I had Sam reading intently and JD was trying to get her attention. They laughed and told me that this was a common scene around their house. Everything went perfectly and Samantha & JD rocked it. Thank you for picking two amazing locations that were both firsts for me. I am looking forward to your big day!
