Melissa and Joe's wedding is the type I get all giddy about photographing: A super relaxed couple who are cute as can be, an energetic bridal party, a mountain meadow ceremony and a seamless photography schedule.
The wedding venue, Mitchell's Mountain Meadows, is nestled in the Tahoe Wilderness off of Highway 89. Once you drive over the creek and make a couple of rights and a handful of lefts, you've reached Mitchell's Meadows - a cute mountain cabin home with over 200 acres of meadows and forest. This venue was absolutely perfect for this couple to say "I do."
The Bride & Groom planned to see each other before the ceremony which made for plenty of time for fun pre-ceremony photos. We took all of the bridal photos then created a "first look" for the couple. The entire bridal party was watching from up on the cabin deck which made for a special moment for everyone. By doing this "first look" we were able to get almost all the photos done before the ceremony making it possible for the Bride and Groom to mingle with their guests and have champagne toast back at the cabin just after the ceremony. We had a few photos to finish up but for the most part, it was party time.
After the ceremony, we headed back to Truckee for a gorgeous backyard reception. I was in detail heaven - the napkin rings with the wood chip that said Melissa and Joe, the homemade cookies in mason jars, the signs from the ceremony placed throughout the yard. The most amazing part was all the details were handmade.
Congratulations to Melissa and Joe. I had so much fun with you guys on your wedding day and I am glad to be able to share your love story with my photography.
